Karin, I can relate. My son can appear quite healthy during the 3-minute doctor visits in psychiatric hospitals and seem like he doesn’t need meds. Then, an hour later, he can be very psychotic. I always insist on a doc-to-doc consultation of the hospital doctor with his regular psychiatrist as soon as he is admitted to the hospital – most hospitals respect my request but some do not.
