The Association for the Chronically Mentally Ill (ACMI) is proud to honor an outstanding behavioral health leader at our annual year-end celebration. This recognition is reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional innovation, leadership, and dedication in serving those with the most serious mental illnesses. Their work reflects a deep commitment to improving lives, advancing care, and creating lasting change for one of our community’s most vulnerable populations.
Jami Snyder, MA is the former Director of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), where she led Arizona’s Medicaid and CHIP programs, serving over 2.4 million residents with a $20B annual budget. A nationally recognized Medicaid leader, she previously directed Texas Medicaid and has held leadership roles at the University of Arizona Health Plans and the Arizona Department of Health Services. Snyder is a past president of the National Association of Medicaid Directors and currently serves as a Commissioner on the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC). She holds an MA in Political Science from Arizona State University.
