The Association for the Chronically Mentally Ill (ACMI) celebrated the passing of "SB1604 (2025) Secure Behavioral Health Residential Facilities (SBHRFs)". The celebration occurred on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.

This legislation allows serious mental illness (SMI) patients who are incompetent/dangerous to be placed in secure, 16-bed facilities.
