ACMI’s Stakeholder Meeting: A Psychiatrist’s Journey by Dr. Judith Engelman, May 5th, 2026, 4-6 PM MST

Take a look at what we have accomplished so far.

On the first Tuesday of each month, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. Arizona time (except on holiday weekends), ACMI hosts a featured guest for a timely conversation on behavioral health. Following the presentation, attendees will discuss current issues in the behavioral health system. We are pleased to have Dr. Judith Engelman discussing A Psychiatrist’s Journey.

Our speaker, Dr. Judith Engelman, affectionately known to many as “Dr. Judy,” is an award-winning psychiatrist whose career spans more than four decades of compassionate, innovative care.

A board-certified psychiatrist and repeatedly recognized as a “Top Doc” by her fellow Phoenix physicians, Dr. Engelman is known for her integrative, holistic approach to mental health—long before it became widely embraced. Her work bridges the science of psychiatry with the art of healing, grounded in a deep understanding of the mind-body connection.

Dr. Engelman’s unique path includes certification as a yoga instructor since 1991 and early leadership in integrative medicine, serving alongside Dr. Andrew Weil on the founding board of the Southwest College of Naturopathy. She also brings significant research expertise, having served for six years as Director of Neuropsychiatric Pharmaceutical Research across Phase I through Phase IV clinical trials.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Judy is a gifted educator and communicator. She has lectured internationally on mental health, hosted her own radio show—“Dr. Judy Is In: Psychiatry for Everyday Living”—and has been a frequent expert guest on television news programs. Her scholarly work includes publications on physician resilience, including research conducted at Mayo Clinic focused on supporting women healthcare providers balancing professional and family responsibilities.

Since 2017, she has served on the faculty of the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine in Phoenix, where her passion for teaching continues to inspire the next generation of clinicians.

Please join me in welcoming a true pioneer in integrative psychiatry, an advocate for resilience and well-being, and a deeply respected voice in mental health—Dr. Judith Engelman.
